Steps to Add a Widget for a Game to Your Website or Blog

Widgets are small bits of software which can be used to add everything from site counters to video games to your website.

If you are new to using widgets, don't be stressed.  At widgetbox.com you can see examples of widgets.

1. When you click to choose a widget a box will open up with a message to copy the few lines of code that are in the box.

2. Highlight the box

3. Right-click and choose copy

4. Paste it into the place on your site where you want to place the widget

5. Click your "save" or "publish" area.

A search for "free widgets" will offer plenty of sites. One of the largest collections is at widgetbox.com.

Below, for example, is a bowling game widget. Feel like trying for some strikes and spares? Enjoy.

How to Use Technorati - Pings, Widgets, Ranks, Favorites

Technorati provides a service for "pinging" your blog or website each time you update it which alerts the internet that your site has new content.  Blogs are ranked according to various data, and social networking enables you to promote your blog.

Widgets are available, such as the ones on this site that are updated continually reflecting what people are searching for on the web and at technorati.  One of the popular widgets allows your readers to select your blog as a Favorite if they wish, and the number of times your blog gets a Favorite is part of the data at Technorati.

It's a good place to go when you want to check blog ranks.  What's in the top 100 blogs on the internet?  The top ten?  Which blogs have been linked to the most often and have the most Favorites?

How To Use A Video On Your Blog to Promote Your Organization

I made the video below for the Central Coast Seniors Center, and you can do the same to promote your favorite nonprofit organization. At youtube.com and other similar video sites you can upload videos to promote your nonprofit organization on the internet, or just provide videos for enjoyment.

(1)      One easy way to do this is with Windows software, which includes the free Windows Movie Maker, but you can use any of the free softwares on the internet to do this.

(2)     For an example of a nonprofit organization with a slideshow on youtube.com you can click on the link below which will jump to the video on youtube. (This is done by copying the address and then pasting it here.)

(3)     The slideshow from youtube is also featured as an example in this post. (This is done by copying the code where it says "embed" and then pasting the code here.)
